Removing X-Power Caliper Covers

Thinking about ditching the caliper covers on my Xpower and giving them a fresh coat of glossy black Plasti Dip to make them pop. The orange just isn’t doing it for me, ya know? Anyone ever tried removing their caliper covers? Got any tips to make it easier?

Will you apply a new color to the cover and replace it?
To make my brake clipper appear nicer, I used to paint it crimson when I was younger.

Yep, I’m thinking of going all black to make them really stand out. Just wondering though, do I have to yank the wheels off to get to the caliper covers, or is there a quicker, easier way to get them off without all that fuss? Don’t wanna make this more of a pain than it needs to be. Any tips on making it smooth sailing?
