Motor sound

Totally agree, it’s like a turbine whirring. Probably because the electric motor has that smooth, nonstop hum, which is way different from traditional engine sounds.

The sound of electric motors can be unique compared to traditional engines. MG's motors may produce a higher-pitched hum, but it's pretty common for EVs to have distinctive noises.

The motor sound is definitely noticeable, but I kinda like it. Makes me feel like I’m driving something high-tech. I heard that sound is partly due to the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor design. If it ever gets too loud, maybe some extra sound dampening mats could help, though it’s probably more noticeable because EVs are so quiet overall.

The electric motor sound can vary between models, but a “plane-like” sound isn’t uncommon. It’s often due to the motor’s high-frequency hum.

My friend pulled a fuse, and now that annoying noise is gone. It's kinda spooky, especially since his car isn't some ridiculous monster truck or booming with a huge subwoofer. Turns out it was that legal "pedestrian alert" thing that goes off over 5 mph. He's freaking out because the one person who knows he did it will not be happy if anything bad happens because of it. He's expecting some serious wrath.
